Rare earth permanent magnets are classified into
SmCo magnets and NdFeB magnets according to material classification. So what is the difference between a SmCo magnet and a NdFeB magnet?
Ⅰ, Main raw materials
SmCo magnet is a kind of magnetic material, which is made of samarium, cobalt and other rare earth metal materials, dissolved into alloy, crushed, pressed and sintered.
II, Processing charact
Both materials are brittle, relatively speaking, NdFeB is easier to mechanical processing.
Ⅲ, Maximum magnetic energy product
The maximum energy product of SmCo magnets is 32M, while that of NdFeB magnets is 52M.
That is to say, the magnetic force of NdFeB is much higher than that of SmCo magnets.
Ⅳ, Temperature resistance
The temperature resistance of NdFeB magnets is not ideal, only suitable for working at 230 ℃. The temperature resistance of SmCo magnet is better than that of NdFeB magnet, it can work at a high temperature of 230 ℃ to 350 ℃.
V,Price
In the case of the same volume, the price of SmCo magnets is much higher than the price of NdFeB.
Ⅵ, Surface
SmCo magnets usually do not need surface treatment, NdFeB can be oxidized easily by surface electroplating.
