Corrosion resistance of bonding Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets is poor. The chemical activity of Nd and Fe in permanent magnets is firm and easy to oxidize. In a humid environment, the surface of Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets will form micro-batteries, which increase the corrosion rate. Corrosion will lead to different degrees of deformation and even powder of permanent magnets. The corrosion resistance of NdFeB permanent magnets is part of the key problems affecting its application. At present, surface electrophoresis is usually employed to improve the corrosion resistance of NdFeB permanent magnets.
Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets have the following methods for anti-moisture and anti-oxidation:
1.Electrophoresis: The surface treatment of bonded Nd-Fe-B
permanent magnets mainly adopts epoxy resin [electrophoresis]. In addition, acrylic resin electrophoresis can also be performed. This method can increase the corrosion resistance of products and have higher corrosion resistance.
2.Spraying method: spraying epoxy resin, spraying Teflon.
3. There are additional special requirements for permanent magnets: Perrin sedimentation can be selected.
